Thyroid Cell
Nucleus Extract

Science tell us it is the cell nucleus that contains the first organizer of the protein structural form generated in normal cell growth and repair. The first organizer form generated is that fraction of the chromosome of the cell which catalyzes the synthesis of new cell protein in growth and repair. (Reference: Protomorphology by Hanson and Lee)

Thyroid Cell Nucleus Extract is a mineral product of the Thyroid Gland Cell Nucleus. It is a tissue extract intended to supply the specific determinant factors of the above mentioned organ and to aid in improving t he local nutritional environment for that organ.

Thyroid Gland Anatomy and Physiology The Thyroid Gland and the Glandular System of Endocrine Glands

Structures:
The eight special glands known as the Endocrine Glands are:
Pineal
Pituitary
Thyroid
Parathyroid
Thymus (also an important Immune System gland)
Adrenal
Pancreas
Gonads (Ovaries and Testes- also
important Reproductive System organs)

Function:
Regulation of body activities through transportation of hormones by the circulatory system.

"Endocrine" means to secrete within. Each of the endocrine glands produces and secretes its own special chemical substances, called hormones. They pour these into the bloodstream. Hormones control and balance the functions, effectiveness and harmony of hundreds of thousands of body biochemicals.

These eight very small organs are small wonders within the world of your body. It is not possible to completely restore health without normalizing the endocrine glands.

Constantly living in conditions of stress, excesses, trauma, hazards, pollution, drugs and chemicals eventually weakens and undermines the efficient functioning of these glands.

Almost everyone today needs endocrine gland evaluation and restoration through proper nourishing substances. This basically means, any body coming from a background of several generations of living in the extremes and unnaturalness of our civilization.

Specifically, the Importance of Thyroid Gland Health
(Greek; tyreos=shield + eidos =form) This gland resembles a shield. It is situated in the lower part of the front of the neck and consists of two lobes, one on either side of the trachea.(the windpipe). It secretes, stores and liberates as necessary, the thyroid hormones. These hormones require iodine for their make-up.

The thyroid regulates the body's metabolism, gives the body energy, keeps the body awake and alert, promotes a feeling of well-being and vigor, and regulates the functional activity of each organ in the body.

The primary hormone of the thyroid, thyroxine, by accelerating the basal metabolic rate, directly influences circulation, respiration and tissue growth and repair.

Thyroxine is also central to sexuality in women, providing a glandular link between the brain and the organs of reproduction. The other principle thyroid hormone is calcitonin, which inhibits the release of calcium from bone and plays a central role in maintaining both calcium balance and strong bones.

Hyperthyroidism, the name given to overproduction of thyroxine, causes extreme nervousness and irritability, increased heart rate and blood pressure, and weight loss. Underproduction of thyroxine or hypothyroidism, results in dry skin, brittle nails, and a lack of energy in adults. Goiter, which is actually an enlarged thyroid, is a sign of thyroid insufficiency. In infants, hypothyroidism can be devastating, inhibiting physical development and causing irreversible mental retardation.

There is a simple test for thyroid activity. Have the patient keep a thermometer ready at their bedside. First thing in the morning, before arising from bed, the are to place the thermometer in their armpit as soon as they awaken. Instruct the patient to lie still and leave the thermometer in place for ten minutes. The temperature should then be written on a piece of paper. This should be done every day for 1month to detect patterns. The temperature should be within the range of 97.8 to 98.1 F. A lower temperature may indicate thyroid hypoactivity. A higher temperature, hyperactivity.

The thyroid gland maintains a vital control over the nutritional needs of the entire body. This gland works in cooperation with the other endocrine glands, and during times of stress, it is designed and "rigged up" to take on the burdens of the other glands. However, this gland can stand this extra strain only when it is healthy.

Dr. Ferguson, a British medical doctor, tested the thyroid glands of mentally troubled children and found them to be dangerously deficient in certain vitamins and minerals, especially B, C and iodine. When he improved the children by giving them food in its natural, uncooked state, including plenty of kelp, the vitamin and mineral deficiency was corrected, and after a few months the children's behavior was healthy.

The thyroid influences the growth of bones and teeth and ensures the muscle tone of the face. Those who have wrinkles at an early age or who are greatly overweight should be aware that their thyroid gland may not be in good condition. Perhaps it is lacking REAL nourishment!

Gland Repair and Maintenance
When the body is under stress-spiritual, biochemical or structural, or even when functioning normally, its cells, glands and organs, must constantly be nutritionally replenished. The glands and organs perform special functions---functions requiring special nutrients to use not only for normal tissue maintenance, but also as tools in the execution of its specific cellular, organ and glandular purpose or mission. These specific nutrients include vitamins, minerals, enzymes, hormones, and other intracellular elemental components. They are either provided by the sun, air, water, and foods we eat, or may be supplemented.

General Considerations:
The nutritional effects of thyroid gland may be listed as follows:
1. Calcium-Phosphorus ratio regulator
2. Oxygenation factor
3. Factor in elimination of toxins
4. Regulation factor in cellular metabolism
5. Factor in cholesterol metabolism

A suitable hypothesis for rationalization of thyroid therapy is presented as follows:
1. The relation of the activity of the thyroid with calcium-phosphorus and cholesterol metabolism is the most obvious effect to be observed.
a. In general we may say that the activity of the thyroid follows the blood levels of these as follows:
1. Increased thyroid activity: Balance in favor of phosphorus (Increased need for calcium) Cholesterol decreased
2. Decreased thyroid activity. Balance in favor of calcium ( Increased need for phosphorus) Cholesterol increased
b. According to clinical experience the following biochemical factors act to influence thyroid Thyroid function as follows:
1. Iodine: Acts as a depressant for thyroid activity as evidenced by use of Lugols (potassium iodide) solution in hyperthyroidism
2.Unsaturated Fatty Acids: Acts to increase thyroid Activity as evidenced by ability to lower blood cholesterol levels (probably through thyroid stimulation)
c. By this rationalization, iodine (liquid dulse) and calcium (Calphonite and Calac) would be recommended in hyperthyroidism. And, unsaturated fatty acids without iodine added and lecithin as a source of phosphorus (Fatty Acid Liquetrophic) would be indicated in Hypothyroidism.
d. Thyroid Liquetrophic is indicated in the Hypo state
e. Thyroid PMG is indicated in both Hypo and Hyper on a clinical basis depending upon response of patient.

2. While the above hypothesis is far from complete, it does form a basic range of activity which clinical experience has shown to be sound. In all cases where thyroid is being considered, the important axis of the thyroid-adrenal-pituitary should be kept in mind. Considerable evidence exists to how that clinical disturbances manifest as thyroid problems are often superimposed burdens brought about by adrenal or pituitary dysfunction

Factors, Symptoms and Signs related to Insufficient Thyroid Health Clinical Considerations
Prominent Clinical Signs and Symptoms
Symptom Characteristics:
Tachycardia is most outstanding finding. The characteristic intensity shown by personality presentation is usually easily recognized, exopthalmia may or may not be present. The hypothyroid case may be difficult to recognize clinically, however, without other significant findings :an inability to withstand mental pressure may be the only differentiating factor.

A. HYPOTHYROIDISM
1. Weight Gain
(Particularly upper body, breasts and arms)
2. Mental Dullness
(Inability to work under mental stress and strain)
3. Hair and Skin Symptoms
(Coarse hair, thick skin, thick lips and tongue)
4. Lowered Temperature
(Cold hands and feet, need for more warmth than average person, etc)
5. Parasthesias
(Numbness, tingling sensations)
6. Fingernails
(Ridged, thick, brittle)

Possible Etiological Background of the above:
Pathognomonic of hypothyroidism is an elevated cholesterol; the remainder of the findings are, in the main, the opposite of hyperthyroidism i.e. elevated calcium in relation to phosphorus, decreased blood iodine, etc. These are also discussed under "Clinical Considerations". The mental picture of the hypothyroid case is often the most important factor in differential diagnosis, here the outstanding quality being the inability to tolerate pressure situations and to make immediate decisions. As hypothyroidism, as usually presented clinically, is indistinct from a symptomatic viewpoint, the mental consideration may be of considerable importance.

B. HYPERTHYROIDISM
1. Tachycardia
(Found in 100% of cases, pathognomonic sign)
2. Tremors
(Particularly tremors of protruding tongue)
3. Sweating
(Tendency to moist skin, particularly palms of hands and soles of feet)
4. Weight Loss
(General distribution, increased appetite and linear build)
5. Vertigo
(Balance mechanism, ability to balance on one leg standing on chair)
6. Personality Stability
(Frightened appearance, intensity outstanding, venture conscious)

Possible Etiological Background:
As would be expected in an elevated metabolic state, phosphorus (the acid mineral) is predominant over calcium (alkaline). As a general rule, cholesterol may be expected to be decreased or normal; fat, however, high in localized deposits, behind eyeballs, for example. Calcium loss is characteristic (Sulkowitch Reagant test). Iodine (or thyroxin according to the Protein Bound Iodine Test) i.e. blood iodine or circulating thyroid hormone is usually high. These biochemical circumstances are discussed hypothetically under "Clinical Considerations". The point to be made here is that through the above mechanisms, the pathological manifestations of hyperthyroidism are expressed, i.e. as fibrosis or fatty deposits, oxygenation increase (increased B.M.R.), hyperirritability (calcium loss), etc.

Nutritional Importances:
In using thyroid cell extract nutritional feeding for the thyroid environment, the synergistic addition of RNA is often helpful, especially to those patients who cannot keep warm, complaining of cold hands and feet (a common complaint seen in hypothyroid conditions)

Thyroid dysfunction-
Thyroid glandular feeding can help support normal physiological needs for the under- active thyroid. It is not indicated for an over active gland.

Female sexual and reproductive problems-
Thyroid glandular tissue often helps by providing the nourishing factors needed to support normal physiological functioning. The thyroid has relationship ramifications to normal female functions. Hence, depressed libido, infertility and related disturbance in women are of a concern here.

Pregnancy-
In normal pregnancy, the thyroid hypersecretes. If this fails to happen, the pregnant woman's teeth may decay and her skin and nails deteriorate. Hence, Thyroid glandular feeding is often considered a prudent action for the pregnant female

Menopause-
Thyroid hypoactivity causes the hot flashes and irritability that bother many women during the change of life.

Dosage/Directions for use:
As a dietary supplement one-three tablets to be taken three times daily with each meal as directed.

Note: All cell extracts should be taken as follows:
First week: 1 per day taken with the largest meal
Second week: 2 per day taken one after lunch and one after dinner
Third week: 3 per day taken one after each meal.

*In all cases of providing cell extracts for nutritional factors, long term therapy should be stressed rather than acceleration of dosage

*Increasing dosage beyond 3 per day, does not seem to produce added benefits

Note:
For maximum effectiveness cell extracts should be taken with 3-24+ Springreen greens tablets. This supplies an excellent array of all needed organic minerals in the ideal natural form.

Ingredients:
Each tablet supplies: 200 mg. Thyroid Extract--- of bovine source, calcium stearate and cellulose as tableting agents.

Effect:
This may be obscure for the reasons outlined under General considerations, above and may depend Upon supportive therapy as appropriate.

Side Effects:
None specifically known, however variations in pulse rate would be the specific indication, Tachycardia indicating increased thyroid activity; bradycardia decreased activity.

Synergists:

Pituitary Liquetrophic
Activity Controlled:
Trophic Effects

Adrenal Liquetrophic
Activity Controlled:
Adrenal Support
